Opinion about the Esport in India ?

My Opinion on Esports in India have grown in popularity in recent years, with a number of professional teams and tournaments being established. The country has a large and dedicated community of gamers, and there are many opportunities for aspiring esports professionals to make a name for themselves.

One of the biggest esports events in India is the Indian Gaming Show (IGS), which is held annually in Mumbai. The event attracts thousands of attendees and features a range of tournaments and competitions for popular games like Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Dota 2, and PUBG.

There are also a number of professional esports teams in India, such as Entity Gaming and Global Esports, which compete in regional and international tournaments. In addition, there are numerous amateur teams and players who participate in local tournaments and leagues.

One of the challenges facing the esports industry in India was in lack of support and recognition from the government. However, the growth of esports in the country has been supported by a number of private organizations and sponsors, and it is hoped that it will continue to grow and gain more widespread acceptance in the future.

However,The country of India officially recognised esports as a multi-sport event on 23rd December 2022.

The change to India’s Allocation of Business Rules of 1961 saw the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports include esports in the category of ‘multisports events’. This will see the ministry govern the esports industry in India.

Overall, the esports scene in India is thriving and full of potential, and it will be interesting to see how it continues to develop in the coming years.
